Sean Cheetham is a contemporary oil painter who training is steeped in traditional portraiture. His remarkable skill at capturing the rich layers and subtle nuances of his subjects hearken back to the old masters, yet the work is undeniably fresh. He chooses to paint his friends, very often his wife, and portrays them with a gripping honesty that captivates the viewer. Sean has exhibited at the National Portrait gallery in London in 2005 where he was included in the prestigious BP awards show. He currently lives and teaches painting in Los Angeles.

For decades, veteran Los Angeles based artist Penny Krebs was celebrated for her cool, hard edged, op-art color field paintings. Since her recent move to the desert outside of LA, however, she has taken a dramatic departure from her previous work and now embraces the elemental yet wholly charming world of nature. Birds, to be specific. With the same exacting precision she applied to her minimal stripes of color, Penny now lovingly renders various species of birds native to her area as if she were channeling Audubon himself. Her medium is watercolor and the result is hard to resist.
