San Francisco artist, Kay Bradner is the focus of a one person exhibition, entitled Tender Observations at Donna Seager Gallery from November 1 through December 14. There will be a reception for the artist on Saturday, November 7 from 6 to 8pm. Bradner has a reverence for detail. Working in oil on aluminum, she records faithfully what she sees but is able to incorporate abstract elements that punctuate and heighten the experience. Her skills as a painter and printmaker are considerable, but that and her commitment to fidelity are not enough to explain the particular quality of her work. She is like a musician who not only has the ability to hit every note, but the virtuosity that allows the listener to be transported by it.
In the West Wing, artist Stan Peterson presents Found Fables, an exhibition of carved and painted wooden sculptures. Peterson’s carved world of hats and boats, rabbits and birds create an environment that brings the viewer inside the pages of books, allowing them to experience in three dimensions the stuff of his studied imagination. Peterson studied art and architecture at the University of Oregon in Eugene and went on to earn his B.A. in Fine Art at Portland State in Portland, Oregon.
In the Jewelry Gallery, Brooke Battles is just in time for the holiday season with her new collection of colorful works , “Urban Garden”. Vibrant kinetic enamel pieces combine together in this highly crafted collection of fine art jewelry objects. There will be a holiday trunk show for Battles from 5 to 9pm, Friday, November 13.. Gift wrapping is available for holiday gift giving.
