Opening Reception: June 13th 2009, from 7-11 pm. This event is open to the public.

The Shooting Gallery is proud to present “Happy Endings”, a new body of works by Greg Gossel. An exhibit is composed of large scale multi media works reflecting on the existence of consumerism, inequality and oppression alive in American culture. Please join us for the opening reception on June 13th 2009, from 7-11 pm.

“Happy Endings” debuts a visual repertoire of appropriated pop culture imagery. Within a contemporary context, Gossel comments on the collective conscious using geometric and typographic elements. He explores an array of media involving silkscreen, experimental Xerox copy and transfers, as well as various found billboard scraps and signage. The raw nature of the collection builds upon the surfaces with rich depth, paint, print and collage. Ranging from pulp novels, romance comics, political references, and fallen icons of the 20th century.

Gossel was born in Baldwin, Wisconsin in 1982. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. In December 2005, he moved to Minneapolis where he currently lives and works as a graphic designer. In addition to design, he is also dedicated to his personal work, and has been exhibiting in galleries and art fairs both in North America and Europe for the last several years.

Please join us for the opening reception of "Happy Endings", a new body of works by Greg Gossel on June 13th 2009, from 7-11 pm. The show will be on exhibit from June 13th through July 7th 2009 and is open to the public. We look forward to seeing you.
