OPENING NIGHT PARTY: Thursday, Apr 23, 2009, 6–9 pm

Young Artists at Work (YAAW) at YBCA is an innovative education program offering youth a hands-on experience in curating, art-making and art criticism. Envisioned and executed by YAAW students, this exhibition presents contemporary, highly regarded artists from the Bay Area chosen by the YAAW team. Working closely with YBCA’s visual arts curators, students learn how to have an idea and turn it into an exhibition. From conception to studio visits, from curatorial descriptions to marketing strategies, and registration to installation, the YAAW students work closely with the curatorial, community engagement and marketing staffs of YBCA to transform an exhibition concept into reality.
